My Mom had been insured by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of GA. for many years. She was in the Gap on her prescription coverage and she was taking 6 meds that were over 200.00 each per month. Her monthly income is $1400.00 so most of income went on meds. My family and I were trying to help her pay her other bills. I called Blue Cross and explained this to them and of course that didn't matter. I told them we were trying to catch up on all her bills and ask them to work with me. They cancelled her of course. I tried to reinstate her coverage after we worked out her high medicine cost but they denied her. After almost 17 yrs of coverage!!! Ridiculous!! There should be laws governing insurance practices and payments! Each year they went up about $5.00 on Mom's premium. They suck....buyer be ware!
