My husband had cancer and I had to fight with the insurance company to get them to pay for his services after I had paid a preminum on him for seven years and never used the insurance. Even my doctor tried to call the insurance company to explain what the treatments were and got no where. Finally I talked to my boss at work and he got it straighten out. I didn't need any more stress at that time when I didn't know if my husband was going to live or die. They also called me three times at work to ask if my husband really needed Hospice care and that they only paid for six weeks. I told them I wouldn't have Hospice for him unless he really needed them and he was going to keep their services and quit calling me at work. They just seemed so impersonal and only worried about the expense they were going to pay out. My husband ended up only using Hospice for one week and then he passed away.
