I hope I spelled HIPPA correctly. I am very tired but would like write this now perhaps I might not come across this website again. All my life I have been healthy. A petite110 lbs approx slim, non-smoker who drinks some white wine with meals, socially. When in 2003 I thought I was having a heart attack, but the shortness of breath was due to pulmonary emboli the cause of this phenomena was a mystery. Hematology work-up after one yr of warfarin showed no genetic defects as protein C etc Declared a fluke taken off warfarin but in 2009 a repeat incident now on warfarin for life. With insurance the medication costs $1.99/month. Without insurance it would likely be about$20.00. I have been fine since 2009 but for age related arthritis that I control with yoga & pilates. Probably healthier than most my ageyet have been refused insurance...On HIPPA major comopany - no need to mention their name- they are all the same regarding my situation premiums are about $700/month, $5,000 deductible $9,000 out of pocket. How could I like my insurance!? I developed this unusual blood irregularity easily controlled by one inexpensive medication, so I am being punished. Rejected by ALL major insurers my only choice was costly HIPPA coverage. What is you role in helping others get decent coverage at fair prices...and I mean FULLL coverage.
